Wellington and our first match - Wellington et notre premier match

Our day started with a visit to Wellington; the city centre and then up to Mount Victoria for of course a team photo' you can see Paul on the left:

From here we could see all of Wellington including the airport and the stadium for tonights match:

First visit was to Te Papa; the National Museum, for a concert of Maori dancing and singing together with an explanation the Haka and the Maori nose touching ''hello''.....we even had the chance of performing the Haka!

Te Papa had also organised a Welsh day with ladies dressed vin traditional clothes, Welsh Dragons etc.

The city was buzzing with rugby supporters for Wales and South Africa with an area set aside specifically for the Springbok and other visitors....France had the chance to meet an amerous lion!

Some time was spent in the bar watching Australia v Italy with the obvious outcome but only in the second half. Good to meet up with friends from Hong Kong and Adrian, Richards nephew, over an excellent meal in the restuarant; Pravda.

It was then off to the Stadium in full uniform....dragon hats which caused some humour!

The Welsh team, shown below just prior to the match, performed well and deserved to win with just one point difference to South Africa. An exciting match with Wales falling just short of a victory.

Monsieur Barnes - Aveugle????

Our dragon hats were appreciated by many as we left the stadium with many supporters of all teams stopping to talk to us
