Back to Napier in the North -

An early start today to catch the ferry to the North Island. First though it was necessary to feed the eels that were in the campsite; ten or so that came out of the water to take food from Michel. In addition there were some enormous trout in the river

On a commence de bonne heure pour prendre le ferry a l'Isle de Nord.  D'abord Michel a fait manger les anguilles qui etaient dans une petite riviere dans notre camping.  Aussi il y avait les truites enormes dans la riviere.



Then off to Picton and good views of the Sound

Puis a Picton et bonnes vues du Sound




Picton is a pleasant town with a good climate.

Picton est une ville tres agreable avec un bon climat.















The ferry journey is about 3 hours .......down the Sound and passing through the Cook Strait and then curving around into Wellington

Le ferry nous a pris a Wellington dans 3 heures - le Sound, le Cook Strait et puis Wellington.





Immediately after leaving one has some good views of Picton


Moving down the Sound provides some wonderful views of the countryside:











On landing at Wellington it was the journey of about 380 kms back to Hastings and Kate's house

Depuis Wellington a Hastings, c'etait un trajet de 380kms.
