Hastings & Napier

While we've been in New Zealand a favorite treat has been the chocolates below, a gift from Paul and Nicky.......quite amusing but given that there are 35 Million sheep here it's an appropriate product:


The day was spent visiting Hastings and Havelock North. Lots of activity in Hastings with its flower festival.
When visiting the area one visit climb up the local mountain Te Mata with some splendid views across the area as you'll see below:

From the top of Te Mata one can also see the vineyards around this area of Hawke's Bay including of note below the Craggy Range Vineyards with excellant wine and restaurant:



Plus also you get a feel for the countryside and the volcanic nature of New Zealand:


In the evening at an excellant restaurant, ''The Factory'' http://www.thefactory.net.nz/ in Napier we were joined by Alix who had flown in from Sydney, plus we were also joined by Andy and June our friends in Hastings.....a good evening was had by one and all
