Voyage to South Island - Voyage vers l'Isle de Sud

They say it often rains in Wellington but there's rain and RAIN and thus a morning spent in Te Papa and it's many exhibitions. Of note was the simulation of an earthquake....quite frightening! Other exhibitions covered life in the sea around New Zealand and in the countryside.

On dit qu'il pleut souvent a Wellington, mais il y a la pluie et LA PLUIE, et donc on a du passer une matinee a Te  Papa avec des expositions.  A note etait la simulation d'un tremblement de terre - on avait eu peu!


Weather here changes rapidly and we presented with a glorious afternoon for our planned journey across the straits for a short visit to South Island on the Interislander http://www.interislander.co.nz/

Le temps ici se change rapidement et nous avions eu une belle apres-midi pour notre trajet en traversant les Straits pour une visite courte a l'Isle de Sud sur le ferry l'Interislander.

We weren't alone on such a visit with many rugby fans, particularly the Springbok supporters, taking the chance to visit South Island between their matches on consecutive weekends in Wellington. Many of these supporters rented vans as seen in the lines of campervans in the queues for the Interislander!

Nous n'etions pas seules parce que il y avait plein de supporteurs de rugby ont pris la chance de voyager dans l'isle de Sud, particulierement les Africaines de Sud, qui avaient deux matchs pendant deux weekends consecutifs a Wellington.  Beaucoup entre eux ont loue les campervans, - voir le fil d'attente.

After crossing the Cook Strait we entered the Marlborough sound and as you can see the weather was superb

Apres avoir traverse le Cook Strait, nous sommes entres dans le Sound de Marlborough, ou le temps etait magnifique.

After arriving at Picton it was a short journey to our campsite just outside Blenheim; Spring Creek
