Journey from Napier to Taupo - Trajet de Napier a Taupo

The journey from Hastings/Napier took us through some wonderful countryside as seen in the video below:

Le trajet depuis Hastings/Napier nous a pris a travers un paysage magnifique, comme vu en dessous:

Whilst we left Hastings in sunshine the weather changed and we encountered some rain en route.
Even so we had the chance to visit ''The craters of the moon'' a walk around an area where you can see the  gases/steam erupting from the earth.

Comme toujours, le temps s'est change pendant le trajet.  Nous avons visite "Les Craters du Lune", une balade ou on pouvait voir les gases/vapeurs sortant du terre.


This was our first sight of this aspect of the area......more to see later but still interesting:

here you can see craters with steam and gases, sulphur for example, escaping from the earth.
Everywhere there are small/large craters and even small holes from which the gases are emerging:

Ici on peut voir les craters avec des vapeurs et gases, le sulphur par exemple, qui echappent le terre.  Partout il y a des petits/larges craters et meme les petit trous, les "fumeroles" avec la vapeur.




The larger craters had mud bubbling at intense heat

Les grosses craters avaient de la boue tres chaude qui bouille.

This was our first introduction to this aspect of New Zealand and there was more to come

That night was spent in Taupo with a sunset view over the lake from the campsite

Nous avons passe une nuit a Taupo avec une couche de soleil magnifique sur le lac depuis le camping.
