Rotorua to Auckland

A bit of a journey today but we chose the most attractive route which took us through Tirau where in the small town ar the massive figures of a sheep, sheep dog and shepherd; the first two can be seen below:

Une longue trajet aujourd'hui mais nous avons choisi une route tres jolie par Tirau ou il y a un gros mouton, un chien de chasse et un berger - comme au dessus:

Then it was on to a cheese factory:

Puis a un magasin/usine de fromage:

Then onto Auckland.....now the traffic is getting busier but eventually we found our home for the next three nights.......the car park of Alexandra Park horse racing track......no electricity, no showers and chemical toilets with a large number of camper vans!!

Puis nous sommes arrives a Auckland, beaucoup de circulation, mais eventuellement nous avons trouve notre camping pour les prochaines 3 nuits - la parking du Alexandra Park, ou on fait le trotting - pas d'electricite, pas de douches et 2 toilettes pour 50 campervans!!!

Our neighbours were a charming couple of South Africans; Johann and Michelle. We did have some words about the Wales v South Africa game but we certainly made friends and are due to meet them in Wellington:

Nos voisins etaient un couple charmant de'Afrique de Sud, Johann et Michelle.  On a discute un peu le match SA contre Pays de Galles! mais on s'entenait bien et nous allons les rencontrer a nouveau a Welllington.

On Johann's head is a rather unusual hat many of the South Africans were wearing ....the ''Makaraka''. This is manufactured from a safety helmet with cuts made to shape the figures etc.

Johann porte un chapeau un peu bizarre que beaucoup de sud africaines portaient - "Makaraka".  C'est fait u'un casque de securite avec les coupures faits pour les boks etc...

We were now joined by Alix who arrived from Sydney so now we are three in a bed in the campervan all ready for the next Wales game but this was only after an evening in the Alexandra Park Sports Bar watching South Africa v Namibia!

Alix est arrive ce soir depuis Sydney donc maintenant nous sommes trois dans le lit du campervan tout pret pour le match Blacks contre la France, mais apres une soiree dans le Bar des Sports en regardant Afrique du Sud contre Namibia!
